Iran’s Leading Freelance Platform Reaches 100k Users
The famous Iranian freelancing platform Ponisha just reached 100k users in it’s fourth years of activity. These users are both freelancers and employers.
Access to skilled talents is still a challenge in Iran. Ponisha founded in 2012 came in to being to solve the matching problem of freelancers and projects. The platform first kicked off hosting web development projects. After some time it was known as the to go to place for a developer or coder to find project based work. Today the platform has had over 35,000 submitted projects which is the reason of it’s rising numbers. The startup itself uses the Ponisha platform to further hire freelancers to develop its product.
Projects on the platform started as web development projects, and now dozens of projects from design, translation, content and many others can be seen in the platform. In the beginning, the team had a development project on another business, it started as a test project to benchmark the web developers. “Then I became interested in Freelancing marketplace and studied more about the competition and market in Iran,” said Nima Nourmohamady, founder and CEO at Ponisha.
The Iranian freelancer.com is also in pursuit of implementing international payment options for international employers to hire Iranian freelancers. This will also create an opportunity for Iranian freelancers to get international projects for perhaps better compensation and unique experiences.
“Generally speaking Iranians like to be independent. That’s why you find so many small shops and businesses here. This is the same for talents, specially now with technology, they could become successful freelancers,” continued Nima on one of the reason behind the growth of the freelancing platform.
